a clear path for these hands
that only the violent

that moment of quiet
amidst a chaotic whirl
a sense of order
inside an impartial world

a spark of control
between the mind and the catch
a last breath of air
between the living and dead
oh wind in the rigging,
what were you thinking?
dashed on the rocks
or was it the singing?

and regrets
you might seem uncertain
but there's always the draw of the dark
seam in the curtain
all the trials
of a life lived in poor health
to finally discover there's only one way
to be rid of yourself
